From The Invasive Species Network
"As you know, Australia’s nurseries are still selling some of the worst invasive weeds in the country – plants like English ivy, gazanias and Amazon frogbit.
They are suffocating our forests, coastlines, our rivers and wrecking the habitats of animals already on the brink.
We’ve got a bold plan to flip the rules – so that only plants proven safe can be imported and sold in Australia. But we won’t win unless we build a force big enough to take on an industry that’s blocked reform for decades.
We need to make the weeds mega threat impossible to ignore – and that’s where you come in.
The catch is, most people don’t recognise the worst weeds – even when they’re in their own backyard. But you can help them make weeds visible.
Help others and governments see what is right in front of us!If you’ve spotted a weedy plant in your area, snap a photo!
Tell us what and where it is – and help expose the threat."
