After 2 successful years, the Mornington Peninsula Landcare Network will run its Meet Your Bushland landholder engagement program again in 2026. Proudly supported through the Natural Resources Conservation Trust, this free program will help to connect 25 landholders with the native bush on their properties.

Participants will be paired with a local bushland restoration specialist and a member

of their local Landcare group for two events:

  1. a walk-and-talk on the landholder property, focusing on the sections of the property with the highest habitat values

  2. a follow-up tour of a separate local property that showcases successful conservation efforts.

Each landholder will receive a short report outlining the conservation values of their property including the supports available to assist in conservation efforts.

If you have a property with native bushland on it (preferably over 2hectares in size) and are

wanting to conserve its natural values but don’t know where to begin, then this program is for YOU!!!.

Properties will be selected based on quality and size of existing remnant bushland on the property, connectivity with existing or planned Biolinks, and/or connectivity with public bushland reserves. Landholders seeking to add native vegetation through revegetation works and properties under 2 hectares with large swathes of endangered vegetation will now also be considered for inclusion in this program.
