Deer continue to emerge as a significant environmental challenge across the Mornington Peninsula, impacting native vegetation, agricultural production and biodiversity. Recently, 64 Deer were removed from Devilbend in a significant control effort by Parks Victoria, however destructive deer continue to be spotted in the Tuerong area, the Merricks-Coolart and Dunns Creek catchment areas and Yaringa on the Northen peninsula.

One of the simplest ways community members can assist is by recording deer sightings and evidence of deer activity through FeralScan here:https://feralscan.org.au/deerscan.

These community-based reporting tools help build a clearer picture of pest animal distribution and impacts, and will allow land managers (including the Mornington Peninsula Shire) and agencies to better plan control activities.
